First Christmas Saved

Christmas may come,
Just one time a year,
But this Christmas,
God has never been so near.

They say do not forget,
The reason for the season,
But this Christmas,
I am saved by Baby Jesus.

This is the best Christmas,
Because Jesus came down to rescue me
But yet I was still a sinner,
And felt like I was just a nobody.

Last Christmas I was full of sin,
Living a life so far from Grace,
But it was not too far for Him
He allowed me to take my rightful place.

Alongside Baby Jesus,
No longer in sin and failure,
But a child of the Father,
The same Father of our Savior.

Jesus is my brother,
The One I wanted all my life,
But now I realize I always had,
Even throughout my years of strife.

He has always been by my side,
I thought I was alone,
But He was watching over me.
Waiting for His presence to be known.

How did I not see,
He has always been there,
But I did not realize,
He was closer than every breathe of air.

To be near to all of us,
Jesus came down to Earth,
But still One with God,
Before His birth.

A baby in a manger,
Is where his Earthly life began,
But He has come down to us,
To save every woman and man.

Including me, He came to save,
And He came to save you too,
But you have to be open to His love,
And He will make you new.

I have been born to be a child of God,
Alongside my brother Jesus Christ,
But not to live apart from Him,
Because for me He was born to be sacrificed
